Responsible for the program and project management and reporting of the testing, proof of concept, and potential transition to production system of LTE-based networks to provide a common wireless communications platform for operations in underground mines.
FMS and MC&G Consulting, Training, and Applications Configuration (Major International Gold Producer, South America)

Engaged as an independent mining expert and subject matter specialist in Caterpillar’s MineStar FLEET and TERRAIN products. Tasked to assist a greenfield gold mine in the optimal configuration and use of the technology systems and ensure that they’re properly integrated with each other and all related mining processes. Also developing and delivering training and training materials to a wide range of site personnel and developing and documenting site procedures to generate value and streamline site processes related and connected to the products.
Applications Support Specialist – FMS (Major Iron Ore Producer, Perth WA)

Currently supporting some great and very keen people in Applications Support, Problem, and Mine Control teams in problem solving, troubleshooting, and functional context in fleet management and machine guidance systems used across their Pilbara operations. Liaison with other teams including integrated operations and site-based departments to drive productivity using the technology. Developing and delivering training material, knowledge base articles, analysis, and reporting of fleet and system performance using raw and processed data, expert advice to support and business teams, on-call support for all FMS production systems, and business and support process mapping.
FMS Consulting and Fleet Optimisation (Major Thermal and Coking Coal Producer, Bowen Basin, QLD)

A short project to assess and report on the current state of the use and application of the fleet management and machine guidance systems on site. From interviews with site departments including Mine Control, Mine Planning, Survey, Geology, Mine Services, Quality Control, Maintenance, Business Intelligence, and Drill and Blast we identified gaps in the use of; the products and features, the output data, and integration with related mining systems. We made recommendations on how to close these gaps and provided the rationale for each of the recommendations to assist the client in justifying the business cases for the improvement projects to come.
Analytics and Modelling Course – “The Analytics Edge” through MIT

As part of increasing my capabilities and service offerings I undertook some study in analytics and modelling. This was an incredibly interesting course from which I gained many insights. I very much look forward to engaging my new skills to dig deeper into fleet productivity and mine performance data to extract meaning and support decisions.

Engaged as an independent consultant assisting with various aspects of Caterpillar’s MineStar FLEET and TERRAIN products. Applications consulting, Business Objects report review and creation, gap analysis and gap closure recommendations, FMS performance improvement and site operational efficiency initiatives leveraging FMS, FMS Operating Model review and improvements, FMS feature review, benefit and value realisation, best practice definition and roll out, applications advice and execution, delivery of product and internal support, business case support for new sites and replacing existing systems, developing and reviewing training material, delivering training to professionals, integrating the FLEET and TERRAIN systems with existing mining processes and packages.
Installation Supervisor / Consultant (Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Pilbara WA)

Contracted to RTIO I provided supervision for one of the installation teams as part of the roll out of the remaining machine control and guidance systems. This role involved producing and maintaining documentation supervising a team of auto electricians and a boilermaker in a workshop environment in the capacity of a Rio Tinto Company Representative.
